Improving the health and wellness of the communities we serve
There are three boards under the District’s banner, each serving a vital role in leadership and the fulfillment of their mission.
MORONGO BASIN HEALTHCARE DISTRICT board has five members elected by voters living within the District’s geographic boundaries. Their focus is directed to the business of the healthcare District.
MORONGO BASIN HEALTHCARE DISTRICT FOUNDATION board is comprised of the District Board of Directors. As the non-profit philanthropic arm of the healthcare District, the focus is supporting the District’s initiatives through grants and select fund raising events.
COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINICS has a board comprised of 6-15 members with 51% of their membership being patients of the clinics and 49% being community leaders. Their focus is directed to the business of the Morongo Basin Community Health Center.
Bob Armstrong is a long-time resident of the Morongo Basin, having moved to Yucca Valley in 1980. Director Armstrong has owned and operated several businesses in our community. Currently he is a Broker Associate with GREEN Real Estate Group. He has previous experience with an elected board having served twelve years as a Director of the Hi-Desert Water District. In 2001 Director Armstrong became involved with the Hi-Desert Medical Center representing them in their real estate needs and helping show potential physicians and key employees the benefits of living in our community. After the lease of the hospital to Tenent, Director Armstrong was able to switch his focus to helping guide and direct the future of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District. He successfully was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016. Director Armstrong is dedicated to providing affordable, quality healthcare to our communities.
