Morongo Basin Community Health Center has partnered with the County of San Bernardino to administer COVID-19 testing to the community.
COVID-19 tests will be administered only at the 29 Palms Split Rock (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Yucca Valley (Mondays and Wednesdays) health centers between 9:00 a.m. and noon. The test team will NOT be scheduled at other designated locations via the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) as was offered in November and December.
No appointment is required to be tested. Testing will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis. Please provide a legal photo ID at the time of the test.
Participants remain in their vehicle while staff process intake-data and collect the self-administered swab.
You will be asked for your PHOTO ID and MEDICAL INSURANCE information so that the insurance company can be billed directly. No co-pay or share-of-cost will be collected. All insurances are accepted. If you are uninsured, you will still be tested.
Flu shots are also available. No other medical care will be provided at the test site.
Results of the test will be provided within 48-72 hours. Visit www.labcorp.com for test results. Go to "Account Login" at the top of the page; choose "Patient"; choose "Create an Account" and complete the registration form. Health Center patients may view their results via the health center patient portal.
"We want to get as many San Bernardino residents tested for COVID as possible," said Jackie Combs, CEO. "It is our goal to get San Bernardino downgraded to the less restrictive "red tier." Currently, San Bernardino County is designated in the more restrictive "purple tier" by the State of California, meaning more businesses are closed.
