The Morongo Basin Healthcare District is pleased to announce the return of the Flying Doctors, who will be offering free dental and vision care, Saturday, March 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bell Center on the campus of Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree.
Appointments are strongly encouraged though walk-ins will be accepted again this year. Those interested in making an appointment for dental or vision can call the Joshua Tree VFW at 760-366-2717 between the hours of 11 am – 4 pm. Walk-ins can begin lining up for open appointments beginning at 6:00 a.m. for both vision and dental services, and will be seen between scheduled appointments. Walk-ins cannot be guaranteed services.
Dental exams for adults and children will include free dental procedures including teeth cleaning, fillings and extractions. For vision, adults and children will be eligible to receive a free eye exam and walk out with a free pair of prescription glasses, if the exam identifies the need. Those who have an eyeglass prescription less than one-year-old may bring it to the event to receive a new pair of eyeglasses.
No documentation is required to receive care; however, no unattended children are allowed.
Lifestream Blood Mobile, the Community Action Partnership Mobile Shower Program and other community resources will also be on hand at the event.
