Behavioral Health
Behavioral health means treating those struggling with mental health issues including stress, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, grief, addiction, ADHD, or learning disabilities, mood disorders, or other psychological concerns. Counselors, therapists, life coaches, psychologists, nurse practitioners, or physicians can help manage behavioral health concerns with treatments such as therapy, counseling or medication.
Morongo Basin Community Health Center provides care for those seeking behavioral health and wellness support. Services provided for adults and children include medication management and therapy for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. Our team includes a fully licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed clinical social worker and support staff.
Medi-Cal/IEHP, Tricare, and most private insurances are accepted. A sliding fee-scale is available to those with fixed or no income so that anyone may be seen for a nominal cost.

Primary Care
You may have heard the term “primary care” but aren’t sure exactly what that means, it is the day-to-day healthcare given by a provider. This provider acts as the first contact and principal point of continuing care for patients within a healthcare system and coordinates other specialist care that the patient may need.
The Morongo Basin Community Health Center offers non-emergency primary care to patients of all ages. We have physicians specializing in internal medicine and family practice, who work with mid-level professionals, to deliver quality diagnosis and treatment to our patients.
Examples of primary care appointments include:
- Performing physical exams and annual check-ups
- Prescribing medications
- Treatment of minor illnesses and injuries
- Managing chronic conditions
- Screening for common health issues
- Management of acute health conditions
- Administering immunizations

Pediatrics
Alan Shih, MD and Daniel Fraschetti, DO
Tiffany Mduba, Nurse Practitioner
Morongo Basin Healthcare District is committed to providing services for every step in your child’s health care journey from the moment you find out you’re expecting until they celebrate that 18th birthday milestone.
Once you welcome your baby into the world, your child’s health focus will shift to pediatric care. Morongo Basin Community Health Center has compassionate pediatricians dedicated to the developing children in our community.
Pediatricians Daniel Fraschetti, DO, and Alan Shih, MD, are on staff to provide care. Joining them is Nurse Practitioner, Tiffany Mduba. Call 760-365-9305,
Pediatric care should include the following:
- Physical exams
- Vaccinations
- Treating injuries, including fractures and dislocations
- Evaluating a child’s physical, emotional, and social development
- Prescribing medications, such as pain relievers and antibiotics
- Providing general health advice
- Diagnosing and treating various medical conditions
- Connecting families with other pediatric specialists, if needed
Vaccines are still very important. Thanks to better nutrition, less crowded living conditions, antibiotics, and most importantly, vaccines, many diseases do not occur or spread as much as they once did, but the bacteria and viruses that are responsible for these diseases remain in our environment. Immunizations are still needed to protect children from these diseases.
Daniel Fraschetti, D.O., Morongo Basin Community Health Center Director of Pediatrics, recommends children from birth to two years of age receive their immunizations as per the guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Timely immunizations during the early years helps young children build important defenses against these diseases for a lifetime. Delaying vaccines only leaves a child at risk of disease for a longer period of time – it does not make vaccinating safer. There is no alternative if you want the optimal protection for your child. Additionally, if your child starts kindergarten or seventh grade this year, California law requires proof of current immunizations before school begins.
